Electrical Controls Technician

To plan, organize, and assist in all electrical engineering jobs performed on mining equipment to ensure proper maintenance and preventative maintenance for the efficient operation of the mine.
Job Objective:
The Electronic Controls Technician should have a good understanding of electromechanical systems, as well as good knowledge of DC and AC theory, understanding of PLC hardware, ladder logic and HMI's and have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics to troubleshoot problems as they arise.
The candidate should have basic knowledge of power distribution, rectification and conversion.
(12470VAC-24VAC, 700VDC-12VDC)Essential Functions Supervision.
Supervises all electrical engineering work performed on mining equipment and responsible for on shift CO techs.
Maintenance Procedures.
Investigates technically all equipment, makes recommendations on specifications and instructs personnel on proper electrical maintenance procedures.
Examines all mining equipment and recommends modification as necessary to meet Company requirements.
Provides for and participates in the inspection of mining equipment for proper operation and safety.
Project Management.
Coordinates electrical work with maintenance personnel to ensure timely completion of projects.
Studies and modifies high voltage power distribution systems as necessary.
Participates in writing and recommending specifications for new mining equipment.
Equipment.
Procures new high voltage equipment for the mine.
Additional Functions Must be able to follow specific instructions while maintaining acceptable established standards of work performance and conduct, show necessary and consistent energy, as well as acceptable mental and physical dexterity, for the satisfactory completion of the essential duties as defined.
Other duties as assigned by management.
